Meteosat

Meteosat collections

The Meteosat series of satellites are geostationary meteorological satellites operated by EUMETSAT under the Meteosat Transition Programme (MTP) and the Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) program. Meteosat sends images to Earth every half hour in the visible and infrared wavelength range and thus enables continuous monitoring from about 60 degrees north to 60 degrees south and from 60 degrees west to 60 degrees east (almost all of Europe and the North Atlantic as well as all of Africa).
