terrabyte Datasets

Curated Catalog Collections

The following is an overview of data collections in our terrabyte curated catalog.

The majority of data is available via the terrabyte STAC catalog. We provide the terrabyte STAC API at https://stac.terrabyte.lrz.de/public/api for searching and loading these datasets following the STAC specification.

A STAC Browser as a graphical interface to the terrabyte STAC catalog is available at https://stac.terrabyte.lrz.de/browser/.

Some datasets can be only accessed on the terrabyte Data Science Storage (DSS) geodata file system. The paths are automatically mounted on all terrabyte compute resources and are listed below.

Data on terrabyte STAC and DSS

The following geodatasets are currently accessible in the DSS as well as via the terrabyte STAC Catalog:

  • Copernicus DEM (GLO-30 and GLO-90)
  • Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 (world-wide, Europe nearly complete)
  • MODIS (MOD09GQ/MYD09GQ, MOD09GA/MYD09GA, MOD13Q1/MYD13Q1, MOD13A2/MYD13A2, MOD13A3/MYD13A3, MOD10A1/MYD10A1)
  • Sentinel-1 GRD and SLC
  • Sentinel-1 NRB
  • Sentinel-2 Collection 0 Level-1C and Level-2A
  • Sentinel-2 Collection 1 Level-2A
  • Sentinel-3 OLCI Level-1 EFR
  • VIIRS (VNP09GA, VNP13A1, VNP15A2H)

Data on terrabyte DSS

The following geodata are currently available on terrabyte DSS /dss/dsstbyfs01/pn56su/pn56su-dss-0008/ only (no STAC):

  • ASTER GDEM (ASTGTM V003)
  • SRTM DEM (SRTMGL1 v003)
  • GEDI (only Germany)
  • Meteosat (MSG.SEVIRI.L15_DISC, MSG.SEVIRI.L15_HRV, MSG.SEVIRI.L15_VISIR)

These data sets are available on terrabyte DSS /dss/dsstbyfs03/pn56su/pn56su-dss-0022/ only (no STAC):

  • Sentinel-5P (AUX, Level-1, Level-2)

Upcoming Data

The following geodata will be made available as soon as possible (status quo 2024-07-16):

  • DESIS Level-2A
  • ERA5 Land
  • Metop (Gome-2 Level-1, IASI Level-1C)
  • Sentinel-2 Collection 1 Level-1C (D-SDA)

How to request new collections

If you miss a data set on terrabyte, you can send us a data request via the Support Forum. In the category "Data requests", choose "New Topic" and fill out the template with specifics of the dataset you would like us to make available on terrabyte.
