Introduction

Any user on terrabyte needs to create a user account at LRZ. Therefore, the terrabyte Identity Management Services are linked with the LRZ identity management. This section describes the following tasks:

• Account registration
• Two-Factor-Authentication (2FA)
• Login to the terrabyte Login Node (SSH)
• Login to the terrabyte Compute Portal
• Apply for a project

Granting access to terrabyte

The terrabyte account registration service (https://register.terrabyte.lrz.de) allows that any member within the eduGAIN identity federation can create an LRZ account. However, only members of DLR will be granted access to the infrastructure and services by default. All other users need to be invited through an LRZ/terrabyte project (see Apply for a project). Currently only members of DLR and users of LRZ can apply for projects.
