Master User

What is a "Master User" of a project?

In the application process, one or more Master Users must be named as a technical point of contact for the LRZ/terrabyte project. The LRZ advisor responsible for the institution will then contact the Master Users for further arrangements (e.g. allocation of access rights). The Master Users administer the user accounts involved in the project(s). Individual users contact one of their Master Users to obtain access rights or to make changes to the allocated resources (e.g. storage space).

Master User activities are typically carried out in the LRZ Identity Management Portal. Supported activities include:

  • Display of institution and project data

  • Overview of all accounts of a project and their access rights

  • Adding and deleting accounts

  • Setting and deleting access rights for accounts

  • Setting passwords
